Our Stables
Here at Downclose we pride ourselves of the individuality and security of our yard, we have black metal entrance gates which are automated during the day but only accessible by code during the evening. Throughout the yard there is CCTV and sensor beams. The stables are light and airy with automatic water drinkers, individual CCTV and rubber matting. Our paddocks are well maintained, free of poisonous plants have automatic water troughs and all fencing is safe and secure.
Enquire NowHoliday/sick cover is also available for when you are unable to look after the horse, please enquire for bespoke prices.
Please note that only we can provide hard feed, the price is worked out per calendar month however supplements and medication must be provided by the owner.
We operate a strong worming program and have access to great equine specific vet practices in the area. We can be on hand for routine visits, including your farrier.

DIY Livery
Where you as a horse owner provides most of the care to your horse, so all basic care tasks are done by yourself, if you needed help extras are chargeable there is price list below, this type of livery is chargeable at £70.72 per week this includes:
- Rubber matted stable with individual stable CCTV camera.
- Full Bed on arrival and one bale weekly. (Extras chargeable)
- Ad lib Hay as your horse requires.
- Use of secure tack room and rug room.
- Turnout only when field and weather conditions are suitable.
- Use of Hot water wash down area and solarium.
- Shared use of indoor or outdoor arena via a booking system.
- Shared use of cross-country course via a booking system.
- Monarch Horse walker with auto reverse and timer.
Assisted DIY Livery
As above but we will provide care for your horse once a day either am or pm to suit your requirements.
If you needed help extras these are chargeable and priced per service.
This type of livery is chargeable at £88.40 per 5 day week (days chosen at owners request, in advance)

We provide day to day care for your horse, which involves mucking out, changing rugs, grooming, turning out etc 7 days a week, this is available for £117.52 per week, this also includes:
- Rubber matted stable with individual stable CCTV camera.
- Full Bed on arrival and one bale weekly. (Extras chargeable)
- Hay as your horse requires.
- Use of secure tack room and rug room.
- Turnout only when field conditions are suitable.
- Use of Hot water wash down area and solarium.
- Shared use of indoor or outdoor arena via a booking system.
- Shared use of cross-country course via a booking system.
- Horse walker with auto reverse and timer.
- Mucking out / poo picking and 15 minutes of horse care time a day.
Full Livery
We will provide complete day to day care for your horse this includes mucking out, grooming, bathing, exercising, tack cleaning, turning out etc, this is available for £176.80 per week, it also includes:
- Rubber matted stable with individual stable CCTV camera.
- Full Bed on arrival and one bale weekly. (Extras chargeable)
- Hay as your horse requires.
- Use of secure tack room and rug room.
- Turnout only when field conditions are suitable.
- Hot water wash down area and solarium.
- Shared use of indoor or outdoor arena via a booking system.
- Shared use of cross-country course via a booking system.
- Horse walker with auto reverse and timer.
- Mucking out / poo picking and 15 minutes of horse care time.
- Up to 5 hours per week on a pre agreed program of exercise.
Working livery is where the horse is kept at livery (DIY, part or full livery) but a reduced rate is charged in exchange for the horse owner allowing the livery yard to use their horse in riding lessons. This is available by separate negotiation.
